This project began with an existing 30x40x10 building with a 4/12 roof pitch. To meet the customer’s need for additional storage, we designed and added a 30x20x10 addition while leaving the original exterior wall intact, creating two functional interior spaces that still operate as one connected structure.

To visually tie everything together, a 12x60x8 lean-to was installed across both the original building and the addition, giving the entire project a balanced, intentional appearance.

Because the lean-to was installed on leveled ground rather than concrete, we used concrete support anchors, removed the base rail, and framed out sections to improve stability and long-term performance.

While it’s typically more cost-effective to build a new structure from scratch, creative solutions like this can be a great option when an existing building needs more space.
