Iliotibial band syndrome is the 2nd most common injury runner’s face and poorly misunderstood. Despite spending hours foam rolling and stretching, runners continue to experience lateral knee pain while running that is annoying, frustrating, and limits their running distance and performance.

Although foam rolling can be part of the recovery process it is not the most important action you can take to end your IT band pain.

Fixing the underlying cause of lateral knee pain comes down to reducing the tension in your IT Band by improving your strength, alignment, and running mechanics.
