The easiest and most convenient way to get into Ukraine from Poland is to reach the town of Przemysl first. Trains are available from any Polish city. The nearest international airports are: Rzeszow, Krakow, Lublin and Warsaw.

Then in Przemysl you can take another direct international train to Lviv and onwards to Kyiv. Or take a small bus (or taxi) to the border village of Medyka (15 min ride) and then cross on foot to Shegyni with onward transportation to Lviv.
