Описание к видео Jeff Orr Memorial Slideshow

Jeffrey Neil Orr, 64, passed away on July 12, 2025 at his home in Waco, Texas. Jeffrey was born on April 13, 1961 in Dallas, Texas to Coy Dean Orr and Virginia Caroline (Koch) Orr.

Growing up in Dallas, he attended Tom C. Gooch Elementary, Thomas C. Marsh Middle School, and W.T. White High School. After high school, Jeff attended Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas from where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering in December of 1983.

During his time at Tech, he was actively involved with the Goin’ Band from Raiderland and the Court Jesters as a trombone player. It would be during his time playing with the Court Jesters that Jeff would become a Texas Tech Basketball Fanatic. From cross-country appearances at numerous games or one-day trips from Waco to Lubbock and back, he attended nearly 1000 games during his lifetime, living up to the legacy of “Texas Tech Basketball’s Number One Fan”.

Besides Tech basketball, Jeff loved his family, funk music, and aviation. Although his degree was in engineering, he spent more than the last three decades of his life as an air traffic controller, first at Waco Regional Airport, followed by Dallas Executive Airport.

Jeff was preceded in death by his father, Coy Dean Orr; aunt, Alice Orr; and uncle, Norman Gale Orr. Surviving relatives include his mother, Virginia Orr; son, Wesley Orr; close companion & mother of his child, Karla Walker; sister, Julie Kucera (Bruce); sister, Linda Yowell; nieces Julianne Pruett (Travis), Jenna Kucera, & Melinda Yowell; nephews, Joshua Kucera (Rachel), and Justin Kucera (Kate).

This slideshow was shared with friends and family in attendance at his Memorial Service that was held on Saturday, August 23, 2025 at 3:00 pm in the sanctuary of St. John's United Methodist Church - Lubbock, Texas.
