Out N' Aboot, known for its gastronomic tours across Canada, recently embarked on a culinary excursion to the heart of Moncton. Main Street's popular hotspot, Tide & Boar Gastropub, became the scene of this maritime adventure, with the team in pursuit of the best fish and chips in town.

Nestled in the bustling downtown district of Moncton, Tide & Boar Gastropub exudes a charm that seamlessly blends modern sophistication with a comforting rustic appeal. The pub boasts an expansive selection of craft beers, a detail that caught Stuart's attention. He singled out Forum as his personal favourite, and he couldn't resist buying four to take home.

The evening started with Stuart treating himself to a Scotch egg. This traditional British dish, known for its savoury combination of a soft or hard-boiled egg wrapped in sausage meat, then breaded and fried, turned out to be an unexpected showstopper. Stuart described it as 'remarkable', a testament to the culinary prowess of the Tide & Boar's kitchen.

Complementing the food was the selection of craft beers, which Stuart sampled in two flights. The first was served promptly, but unfortunately, the second was delayed by 20 minutes due to a server oversight. However, the situation was smoothly rectified by offering the second flight as a complimentary gesture – a "nice save," indeed.

Then came the much-awaited star of the evening, the fish and chips. However, contrary to expectations, it failed to match the stellar impression set by the Scotch egg and craft beers. Missy also tried their specialty gravy, a unique blend of chicken and boar, but found it not quite to her liking.

Unfortunately, the experience, which started with so much promise, did not quite meet Out N' Aboot's expectations for the evening. While the initial offerings were remarkable, the star dish - the fish and chips - fell short. On their signature rating scale, Out N' Aboot marked this experience at Tide & Boar as a MISS.

It's important to remember that experiences can vary, and Out N' Aboot encourages everyone to give Tide & Boar a try. Moncton's dining scene is vast and versatile, with plenty of options for everyone.
