Описание к видео 5 Things Every Investor Looks At Before Funding a Startup

Raising money is not about a fancy pitch deck—it’s about whether your startup survives 5 brutal questions every serious investor is asking in their head.

In this episode, Ankush breaks down the 5 things investors really look at before wiring a single rupee:

What problem are you solving?
Is it a real, painful problem with clear urgency, or a nice-to-have feature nobody cares enough about?

What is your market size?
Is this a tiny niche or a space that can support a meaningful business or venture-scale outcome over time?

What is your vision—short term and long term?
Can you show a clear 12–24 month execution path and a believable 5–10 year brand or category story?

Team composition & traction.
Why you? Is this the right founding team for this problem, with proof of execution, early customers, or real signals—not just vibes?

GTM & business model.
How will you actually reach customers, make money, and defend your position once competitors wake up?

Ankush explains why investor meetings are like dating—both sides are evaluating fit and red flags, not just saying yes to the first coffee. Even after you get a term sheet, there’s still legal, statutory, and financial due diligence; if your books, contracts, cap table, or compliances are messy, the money can simply never arrive. Many startups fail at this stage despite holding a “signed term sheet,” because due diligence uncovers problems or misalignment that kill the deal. Term sheets can sometimes help in conversations with other investors, but they are not a guarantee of funds being transferred or a license to celebrate prematurely.

If you’re thinking of raising capital—or already out pitching—this episode will save you from naïve assumptions and help you prepare like a professional.
