Finding the Mode in Statistics. The Mode in a data set is the number or value that repeats most often. Let’s take the same data set from our Finding the Mean example. Again, you would normally want to put these numbers in ascending or descending order. Let’s put these numbers in ascending order. Ascending order means least to greatest. Technically for the mode, you do not need to put them in any order, as long as you can comprehend the number or value that repeats most often. The number that repeats most often is 10.
