In this example problem, we find the first derivative of a 7th degree polynomial function by using the power rule. We then evaluate the 1st derivative at a given value of x and discuss that the result means about the graph of our original function. We then find the second derivative of the function by taking the derivative of the 1st derivative. It is then evaluated at the same given x-value and the implications of the results for the graph of the original function are talked about.
