Introducing the NEW Ross LTX & Gunnison reels

This short film showcases the new Ross LTX and Ross Gunnison fly reels being tested on our home waters of the S. Platte River.

Both reels have performed wonderfully during our testing period which began in the Fall of 2017 and we cannot say enough about the new deigns leaving the Ross/Abel facilities.

The LTX is an extremely light reel which features many updates over its predecessor, the Ross Evo LT. Several stand-out features include a brand-new fully US made drag system with 4 times the strength of its predecessor. The reel has an arbor knot indentation on the spool for hiding pesky tag ends from sticking out through the spool and also boasts a "grippy when wet" Canvas/Micarta retrieve knob which is reflected on all new reels in the Ross lineup.

The Gunnison features that same reliable drag system and Micarta handle but with the classic stylings that mirror the Gunnison Reels of the past we all know and love. This latest re-imagining of the infamous reel features a fully machined aluminum alloy frame and spool that’s both lightweight and extremely durable. You’ll also find the high-performance stacked disc drag system from the Evolution line that packs a ton of power in a very small space
