This is a novel way of securing a secondary mirror to its support that will enable easy and accurate adjustment of the mirror in terms of offset and rotation. Magnets hold it firmly in position while adjustments are made and then a central bolt locks it in place. There is a safety cord attached in case the silicone detaches. I have never had this happen before, but there is always a first time!
