KHEER:
Kheer, also known as payasam, is a pudding popular in the Indian subcontinent, usually made by boiling Milk, Sugar and Rice. It is basically a milk-based dessert, which has other ingredients, sweetener and flavorings added to it. The most classic version of this dessert is the rich Rice Kheer, where you slow-cook rice grains, whole milk and sugar to perfection. Rice Kheer is an alternate dessert to the regular kheer for making at home for special lunches & religious festivals.


In Odisha It is known as KHEERI. And KHEERI is famous in Western Odisha "NUAKHAI FESTIVAL". Its name from the word ‘NUA’ meaning ‘NEW’ and ‘KHAI' meaning ‘FOOD’. Nuakhai is observed to welcome the new rice of the season. This traditional festival has excellent significance for farmers and the agricultural community as it is performed to welcome the season’s newly harvested rice.

INGREDIENTS: Rice, Milk, Sugar/Jaggery, Nuts, Ghee, Cardamom Powder, Condensed Milk(Optional).

MUGA RASA BARA:
Rasabara is associated with the belief and traditions of Western Odisha inhabitants. These are widely consumed in Odisha. It is very Juicy and soft in taste and made from "Yellow Moong Dal" Paste. This Bara/Vada are fried and then soaked into the Sugar syrup".
