How to hand sew a dress and use Kawandi quilting techniques to make a beautiful skirt.

This is primarily a tutorial on hand sewing a piece of clothing. In this case, I'm sewing myself a new dress which has a skirt made by quilting scrap fabric in the Kawandi style.
When I made my original Kawandi I just knew it had the beautiful drape that would be perfect for a dress. I had to wait to find the base fabric, which is a thrifted duvet cover that I found a few weeks ago.
Hand sewing clothing doesn't take as long as some people might think. This dress took around 4 days in total spread over 2 weeks.

The pattern I used is a beginner sewing pattern by Cinnamon Daisy and is called Willow. I bought this pattern after I saw the dress at the Knitting and Stitching Show last year. I did make some alterations to suit myself, but it was easy to make and if not hand sewing would have probably taken less than a day. I'll link the pattern below. I particularly like the ties at the front waist and I'll be making it again in a single fabric for a different look.
