George II of Georgia (გიორგი II) (4)

George II (გიორგი II) was the 4th king of Georgia from the Bagrationi dynasty who reigned from 1072 to 1089. His reign was marked by internal strife and external threats, particularly from the Seljuk Turks, who repeatedly invaded and devastated Georgian territories. Despite these challenges, George II sought to strengthen his kingdom and worked towards centralizing royal authority. His reign was ultimately followed by that of his more famous son, David IV, also known as David the Builder, who significantly expanded and strengthened the Kingdom of Georgia.
