DESCRIBED:-
On 9 December 2025 Angel Chakma a 24year old MBA student went to Selaqui market in Dehradun with his younger brother Michelle Chakma to buy groceries Both brothers were from Tripura and had come to Uttarakhand to pursue higher education
At the market a group of locals began harassing them with racist remarks calling them Chinese Nepali and Momos solely because they belonged to Northeast India
When the brothers protested against this abuse the situation turned violent.The attackers assaulted them using sticks and knives Angel Chakma suffered severe injuries and was rushed to the hospital where he was admitted to the ICU
After fighting for his life for 17 days Angel Chakma succumbed to his injuries on 26 December 2025
