I really hope you all enjoy this year's Halloween Palooza. I still want to do one of these every year (again, its a nice yearly recording and editing exercise), regardless of how well these videos perform.

Tonight's story details a summary of the author's viewing of a childhood film along with the memories tied to his experience with the movie. I watched this movie for the first time while working on this project, and I've kinda gotten a bit obsessed with a lot of Oz-related video essays while working on this project. I may need to read the actual books at some point as well after having spent about 2 months on this.

I hope i was able to do the movie some justice while staying faithful to the original story, and I hope this video encourages you to go give it a watch. The casting is excellent, and while i think the plot could be a bit more tight, it's still a very enjoyable movie and consistent in quality to the original 1939 Wizard of Oz film.

Next year (along with the normal 2024 palooza video), I may release a supercut of the first 3 years' stories (minus the crappypastas) with minimal editing and re-recorded narrations. After having sat on them for years now, I'm really not satisfied with the audio quality of those videos. So look forward to that.

Not quite sure what's going to be in the 2024 video, I'm contemplating doing Ticci Toby since I want to get around to doing a "killer" creepypasta story at some point and Tobbi's is probably the most competently written out of the bunch. I had a lot of fun last year doing Mr Widemouth and I wanna try another character-centric story like that since voice acting is where i excel in these narrations. That and I plan to do a future video essay on "OC the Killer" creepypastas since I grew up reading Jeff the Killer, so having that sort of synergy between the essay and the Halloween video would be nice. Some other stories I'm sitting on at the moment for next year's palooza are "The Devil Game", "Tower of Silence", "Invoking Ganesh", "Rap Rat", "The Holder of the Story", and "The Disappearance of Ashley Kansas" which is a creepypasta I've been wanting to get around to narrating since the first Halloween video.
