Speckle noise Filtering on Sentinel-1 Images (radar (SAR) images) in the SNAP
Speckle noise is a granular pattern, a special kind of noise that is mainly found in the satellite images, removing such noise is one of the major challenges and least touched issues. Speckle, appearing in synthetic aperture radar (SAR) images as granular noise, is due to the interference of waves reflected from many elementary scatters. Speckle in SAR images complicates the image interpretation problem by reducing the effectiveness of image segmentation and classification.
in this video we showed applying a few filters such as Lee, Median, Boxcar, Gamma, frost, and so on, that help you reduce the speckle from your images. You can use these filters based on their results and your need because each filter has its effect.
