On the evening of March 2, 2022, the Romanian Air Force's Mig-21 Lancer fighter took off from the 57th airbase to conduct combat patrols along the border. Just 13 minutes later, contact with the plane disappeared.
The Romanian fighter plane was found to have cr@shed. An IAR-330 Puma rescue helicopter was sent to search for the Mig-21, but 40 minutes after takeoff, it also disappeared.
Not long after, the plane's wreckage was discovered on the beach. All seven people on board were kiIIed. In one bad evening, Romanian forces lost two planes at once in just a few hours.
But controversy broke out. Is this a coincidence between the Russian-Ukrainian tension situation? Who is responsible for the breakd0wn of fighter jets and rescue helicopters? Three hypotheses were presented here.
