Let's make Tripolee, a handmade watercolor paint! This color is in the Supershifters collection and is available as a watercolor paint or pigment powder. The pigment used is multichrome, meaning it changes colors based on the angle of light.

Watercolor paint: Just like it says :) each watercolor comes in either half pan or quarter pan, individually wrapped and with a magnet attached for easy storage.

Pigment powder: The base color, and it's cosmetic grade! Sold in 1g jars as loose powder and is perfect as eyeshadow or for other things like nail chrome, resin art, or mixed into another medium.

When making handmade watercolor I start out by taking pigment powder and mixing it with homemade watercolor binder using a palette knife. Once the pigment is nice and mixed I pull out the glass tool, called a muller. The muller helps to break down any clumps of pigment and to make sure each individual particle is evenly distributed in the binder. Once the paint is all mixed it gets scooped up and poured into a piping bag which is then used to fill watercolor pans and sample cards.

Each pan (typically quarter and half pan sizes) is poured and dried in a few different layers and comes with a magnet secured to the bottom for easy storage. Once the paints are all dried they are individually wrapped and ready to be shipped out to customers!
