Huge crowds of protesters marched through Tehran and other Iranian cities in what is described as the largest mobilization against the clerical establishment in years. Peaceful demonstrations were reported in Tehran and Mashhad, while monitors later confirmed a nationwide internet blackout.

Chants called for the overthrow of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and the return of Reza Pahlavi. The unrest, now in its 12th day, has spread nationwide amid currency collapse, leaving dozens dead and thousands arrested.
