This was a handicap fleet race of the Summer series
the race was number 8 in the series

The weather conditions had been generally favorable. The afternoon had been clear & calm weather, which was ideal for sailing. though there had been some cloudy skies initially, but these had cleared up as the race progressed, improving the conditions.

As the day advanced, hot and humid air had moved in from the south, making the atmosphere muggy, especially in the evening and night. This had led to a slight decrease in wind speed, and the air had felt heavier, adding a layer of challenge to the race due to the increased humidity.
