DJay 95 Plays: GTI Club: Rally Cote D'azur (Arcade)

Hey players, DJay here with another longplay on another arcade exclusive racing game, GTI Club.

Description of the game:

GTI Club: Rally Cote d'azur is a 3D racing game by Konami released exclusively for the arcades in September 1996 on the Konami GTI Club hardware, named after the game itself. The game spawned 2 sequels, GTI Club 2: Corso Italiano in 2000 and GTI Club: Supermini Festa in 2008. A remake of the game was made available on PS3 in 2008. As the name implies, it is set in a fictionalized Cote D'azur. A dog is a secret selectable car.

Players select between 1 of 5 different cars (the Bugatti always requires an extra credit in order to drive it) and must race around the streets of Cote D'azur. There are 3 different courses to select from that vary in difficulty. The goal is simply to complete each course within the allotted time and to finish ahead of the other racers. Obstacles like traffic and a train must be avoided as colliding with them slows the player down. Check points are placed throughout to extend the timer. If the player runs out of time, the game is over. Exclusive to linked multiplayer is tag mode where the player must tag the other player with a bomb and drive away to avoid being touched. Whoever was last touched when the timer hits zero causes that player's car to explode and lose the game.
