In this episode, Sal Mercogliano - maritime historian at Campbell University (@campbelledu) and former merchant mariner - discusses the arrival of the first of the five state maritime academy training ships, National Security Multi-Mission Vessel I (Training Ship Empire State VII) at the State University of New York Maritime College. We also discuss the NSMV program, how it differs from other government shipbuilding programs (it works), how it could be utilized by the US Navy and the delivery of the other state maritime academy ships.
