Let me start with the fact that you should not hesitate from discussing all or any kinds of topics on pregnancy and conception, openly with your doctor!

My experiences are just shared with the sole intention of helping a co-mom through her journey and in no way is a substitute for your doctor’s advice.

I have gone through Follicular Monitoring and I want to share my experience and help you get some answers if you might be going through it or might have been recommended to do one.

• A Follicle is small bubble-like sac in our ovary that contain an egg. It grows in size through our menstrual cycle until one day, it ruptures and releases an egg.
• Follicular Monitoring is a series of ultrasound vaginal scans used to identify if a woman is ovulating and pinpoints the timing of a follicle rupture and egg-release.
• Couples can determine when intercourse should be done to have the best chance at conception.
• So I received a passport like book where every time I went for the scan, the date and size of the follicles were noted.
• Usually ovulation happens on day 14 but for me it happens on day 9 so every woman is different.
