*DANGEROUS RAPIDS*on the Wabash River-Who Knew?

While driving our pickup vehicle to the takeout point, I saw some rapids in the distance as I crossed a bridge. I knew the water was high from spring rains and thought we’d just have some splashes and fun ..... besides it was only a short distance to our takeout spot. The maps didn’t show a fall, the DNR page didn’t mention it either. No signs to let us know that what has been classified forever as a navigable waterway....... had a four foot fall !!! Only after scrubbing the internet for info (after I got home) was I able to find a mention of it , and a few YouTube videos of kayakers taking the challenge. Buried in the Wikipedia page a small note about”it could be dangerous and to portage around it” A lot of water was flowing that day . We had fun ..... we weren’t hurt ..... but we could’ve been KILLED!!
