Poets of the Past is a sequel to the much acclaimed documentary
film "In the Shade of Fallen Chinar" (2016 ) . It tells us the everyday struggle of people in Kashmir valley , India through narratives of a group of young artists. The film sheds light on how the youngsters connect to their pastand seeks answers for the issues surrounding their lives. Through tracing the rich Kashmiri knowledge tradition handed down from the previous generations, the young artists seeks a way out in a chaotic and confused political reality.
