Hannyabal is a pain in the butt. He hits hard and is difficult to stun with by brute force means. Just do bait and run tactic to force him to do the tornado swing for stun opportunity. Best to use ゴムゴムの銃（ピストル）Gomu Gomu no Pistol for that stun opportunity as its the fastest + hard damage attack that can one-hit-to-stun during the stun opportunity.

It took me around 3-4 retries until I figure out the tactic to defeating Teach. My first few initial attempt was just brute force spamming attack and hope to trapped him in the corner for pounding. But it ended up bad because every once a while he does 闇水 Kurouzu that sucks you in and does the a melee combo. So midway during this fight that's when I figure out I should have timed my ゴムゴムの銃（ピストル）Gomu Gomu no Pistol just before he stop 闇水 Kurouzu. Because of dashing to a stop, you will lose the timing to hit him.
Tho if he does the longer version of 闇水 Kurouzu, which he yells 行くぜ! Here we go! (or similar context) he has a longer duration for stun opportunity which you can do ゴムゴムの銃（ピストル）Gomu Gomu no Pistol after you stop.

About the Magellan fight. It's developer's treat for giving you a difficult time/bad camera mechanics from the previous episodes on hard mode I guess.
