Broken Railroad Crossing Gate Hits Train

Описание к видео Broken Railroad Crossing Gate Hits Train

Roughly a half hour before this video was filmed, a BNSF Railway train crew reported a damaged railroad crossing at Calumet Street in Centralia, Illinois to the railroad dispatcher. After hearing this over the scanner, I setup at Calumet to watch the next train pass the crossing. Seen in the video is Norfolk Southern train 224 as they slowly approach Calumet. The conductor attempts to fix the railroad crossing, and then flags the crossing in order for 224 to pass through. As the conductor prepares to climb back on 224's lead locomotive, the gate lowers again making contact with the locomotives, intermodal cars, and autoracks. I did come back out to Calumet a few hours later and the railroad crossing was fixed, and the gate was replaced. The problem appears to be started by a semi truck hitting and damaging the crossing. Enjoy!
