Jeremy Kyle speaks with Reform UK leader, Nigel Farage to discuss families on modest wages potentially being £18,000 worse off than jobless households on benefits after Rachel Reeves scrapped the two-child cap, new analysis shows.

According to the Centre for Social Justice (CSJ), a three-child family on average Universal Credit, housing support and other benefits could receive up to £46,000 next year.

A similar working family, with one full-time and one part-time adult on the national living wage, would take home around £28,000.

The CSJ says the gap will fuel anger over Reeves’s Budget, which raised taxes on workers by £26bn while increasing welfare spending by £16bn. Critics argue Labour is creating a system where not working can pay more than working.

The two-child cap reversal cost £3bn and was a major Budget announcement welcomed by Labour MPs.

The CSJ also found a five-child family on benefits could receive £55,000 by 2026–27.
