It was a full-blown immersion into futuristic tech, startup innovation, and cross-cultural experiences — from Beijing to the Great Wall of China.

Before boarding the flight, there was nervous energy, packed bags, and goodbyes filled with emotion — especially because some friends couldn’t join due to visa issues. We landed in China unsure of what to expect. But what we saw blew our minds: Tsinghua University’s Tech Park filled with student-run startups, conversations with seniors working on AGI, and jaw-dropping infrastructure that felt like a glimpse into the next decade.

From exploring the Alibaba campus, discovering how 5/10 Ali Day came to be, and understanding the scale of AliCloud and AliMaps — to attending the AI For Good workshop where we imagined how different life would’ve been if we had ChatGPT at age 10 — the learning never stopped.

We also had once-in-a-lifetime experiences: snowfall on the Great Wall, a Holi celebration in Beijing, trying Chinese sweets, bargaining in traditional markets, and a surprise karaoke night just before flying back home. Somewhere between tech talks and metro rides, the group of strangers became friends — and we all came back a little more inspired, a little more connected.
