The Korean original musical 'Marie Curie,' which received warm acclaim with its premiere stage in 2020, has returned with even richer content after three years. The musical portrays the touching story of Marie Curie, the female scientist who discovered radium, and the changes and challenges brought about by the discovery. It beautifully depicts Marie Curie's struggles and triumphs in the face of unforeseen dangers. At the 5th Korea Musical Awards, the musical won five awards, including Best Director, Best Script, Best Music, and Best Producer, recognizing its artistic excellence. The production also received positive responses overseas. In 2022, musical concerts and screenings were held in Poland, and in March of last year, a licensed performance took place in Tokyo, Japan. 2020년 초연 무대를 통해 뜨거운 사랑을 받았던 한국 창작 뮤지컬 '마리 퀴리'가 더욱 풍부한 볼거리를 가지고 3년 만에 다시 돌아왔다.
뮤지컬 '마리 퀴리'는 라듐을 발견한 여성 과학자 마리 퀴리와 라듐의 발견이 불러온 세상의 변화와 근심, 그리고 미처 알지 못했던 유해성과 직면한 마리 퀴리의 좌절과 극복을 감동적으로 그린 작품이다.
제5회 한국뮤지컬어워즈에서 연출상, 극본상, 음악상, 프로듀서상 등 5관왕을 차지하며 작품성을 인정받았던 이 작품은 해외에서의 반응도 뜨거웠다.
2022년에는 폴란드에서 뮤지컬 콘서트와 영상상영회를 진행했고, 지난해 3월에는 도쿄에서 일본 라이선스 공연이 무대에 올랐고 11월에는 영국 웨스트엔드에서 영국 배우들이 출연하는 영어 리딩 쇼케이스를 진행하며 주목받고 있다.
