Step-by-Step Guide to Close IDFC FIRST Bank FASTag and Get Refund
Before applying for a new FASTag with your preferred bank (which can be IDFC First Bank again or another issuer), you must first deactivate your existing IDFC First Bank account to avoid issues like double deductions, as per NPCI "one vehicle, one FASTag" rules.
1. Utilize or Refund Your Existing Balance
First, use up the balance in your current IDFC First Bank FASTag or initiate a refund request. The remaining amount (including the refundable security deposit) will be credited to your linked bank account after the account closure is complete.
2. Request Account Closure
You can close your IDFC First Bank FASTag account through one of the following methods:
Customer Care Helpline: Call 1800-266-9970 from your registered mobile number. Provide your details (registered mobile number, vehicle registration number, Wallet ID) and request account closure.
Email Request: Send an email to [email protected] or [email protected] from your registered email address. Include your registered mobile number, vehicle registration number, Wallet ID/Customer ID, a scanned copy of the Vehicle RC, and a cancelled cheque for the refund process.
