What’s recommended in the video is an Ayurvedic recommendation which is also a part of traditional (also most of the) Indian families.

After giving birth, it's important for new mothers to wait for their bodies to heal before resuming exercise. This period of waiting is typically called the "postpartum recovery period." The exact length of this period can vary depending on factors such as the type of delivery (vaginal or cesarean), the mother's overall health, and any complications that may have arisen during childbirth.

There are several reasons why it is advisable to wait before resuming exercise:

1. ⁠Hormonal Changes: Hormonal changes occur during pregnancy and childbirth. These changes can affect a woman's mood, energy levels & physical abilities. It's important to give the body time to adjust to these changes before engaging in strenuous exercise.
2. ⁠Pelvic Floor health: The weakened pelvic floor muscles which are important for bladder and bowel control, as well as sexual function to the end need time to recover. Engaging in high-impact exercise too soon after delivery can put additional strain on these muscles and delay their recovery.
3. ⁠Diastasis Recti: This is a natural condition where the abdominal muscles separate during pregnancy. It's important to allow these muscles to heal before engaging in exercises that could worsen the separation.

These are a few reasons.

Leisurely walks, gentle breathing exercises etc. are of course helpful, when received under expert’s guidance & recommendation.

Remember to consult with your healthcare provider before starting any exercise program after delivery. The healthcare provider can provide guidance on when it's safe to resume exercise and what types of exercises are appropriate.

Always my strong recommendation is consult a QUALIFIED & EXPERIENCED Ayurveda physician for the same. They can also help you recover with a more holistic approach than on physical.
