========= Historic Fact ==========

Taking place from February 17, 1915, until January 9, 1916, the Battle of Gallipoli was a long and controversial attempt to reach and occupy Constantinople (now known as Istanbul) during the First World War. The campaign resulted in 213,000 casualties and cost 44,000 allied troops their lives.
