Last year we carried out a survey exploring RA-UK members’ motivation, and barriers regarding the pursuit of advanced training and leadership roles in regional anaesthesia. The results of the survey are helping us design more effective strategies to support everyone. However, this is a journey we all need to walk together.

Today we celebrate International Women’s Day and we would like to invite you to watch our discussion with four women in regional anaesthesia, pain, POCUS and research who are some of the most valued professionals in these fields.

We hope this might empower women anaesthetists to step up, and help all of us recognize and challenge bias when we encounter this.

On the 6th May at the combined RA-UK and ISURA scientific meeting in Edinburgh, we are hosting a breakfast networking session focused on the value of diversity and inclusion. This is a great opportunity to reflect on our own bias and share your views and commitment to making regional anaesthesia, pain and POCUS a community where everyone feels belonged. Don't miss it!
