The growing year is slowly starting back up here on the farm. It's time to prune the orchard trees, so they'll be their healthiest this summer.

While pruning, we observed some of the ancient traditions associated with wassailing- toast on branches, cider poured out on the roots, and, of course, yelling to wake the trees. Our apples are always the prima donna of the orchard, maybe this is the attention they demanded to finally produce a bumper crop. We'll see.
