The Scripter Awards recognize the year’s most accomplished adaptation of the written word for the screen, including feature film and episodic series adaptations. Scripter honors the both the screenwriter and the author of the work that was adapted. The writers behind the film “The Lost Daughter” and the series “Dopesick” took home the top prizes at the 34th-annual USC Libraries Scripter Awards ceremony, held on February 26th. Writer/director Barry Jenkins was honored with Scripter's 2022 Literary Achievement Award. For the second year in a row, the awards were held online at scripter.usc.edu instead of their traditional home in Doheny Memorial Library.

The other nominees for film were "Dune," "Passing," "The Power of the Dog," and "The Tragedy of Macbeth." For series, they were the writers of episodes for "Maid," "Station Eleven," "The Underground Railroad," and "WandaVision" as well as the original works from which they were adapted.
