Описание к видео Creating Back Orders

Creating back orders in Odoo allows you to manage situations where you don't have enough stock to fulfill an order immediately. Here's a detailed explanation of how Odoo handles back orders:

What is a Back Order?
A back order occurs when a customer orders a product, but you don't have enough quantity on hand to fulfill the entire order at that moment. Instead of canceling the order, you create a back order to fulfill the remaining quantity later when you receive more stock.

How Odoo Handles Back Orders
Odoo provides two main options for handling back orders:
Allow Back Orders:
Configuration: This is the default behavior in Odoo. When you process a delivery and don't have enough stock, Odoo will automatically create a back order for the remaining quantity.
Process:
When validating a delivery order with insufficient stock, Odoo prompts you to create a back order.
The original delivery order is processed for the available quantity.
A new delivery order is created for the back ordered quantity, which will be fulfilled when stock becomes available.
Block Back Orders:
Configuration: You can configure Odoo to block back orders, preventing the creation of a new delivery order for the remaining quantity.
Process:
When validating a delivery order with insufficient stock, Odoo will not allow you to proceed unless you adjust the quantities to match the available stock.
You can either cancel the remaining quantity or wait until you receive more stock before processing the delivery.

Configuration Steps
Allow Back Orders (Default):
No specific configuration is needed, as this is the default behavior in Odoo.
Block Back Orders:
Go to Inventory Settings: Navigate to Inventory - Configuration - Settings.
Uncheck "Allow Backorders": Uncheck the Allow Backorders option.
Apply Changes: Save the changes.

Process of Creating a Back Order (When Allowed)
Create a Sales Order: Create a sales order for a product with a quantity greater than the available stock.
Confirm the Sales Order: Confirm the sales order.
Process the Delivery:
Go to the delivery order associated with the sales order.
Enter the quantity you are actually delivering in the Done column. This quantity should be less than the Demand quantity.
Click Validate.
Create Back Order Prompt: Odoo will prompt you with a question like "Do you want to create a back order?".
Create Back Order: Click Create Back Order.
Back Order Created: Odoo will process the delivery for the available quantity and automatically create a new delivery order for the remaining quantity (the back order).

Managing Back Orders
View Back Orders: You can view all back orders in the Inventory app under Operations - Delivery Orders. Filter by Back Orders To Do.
Process Back Orders: Once you receive more stock, you can process the back order by validating the delivery order associated with it.

Benefits of Using Back Orders
Customer Satisfaction: Allows you to fulfill orders even when you don't have enough stock on hand, improving customer satisfaction.
Sales Retention: Prevents you from losing sales due to stockouts.
Inventory Management: Helps you manage your inventory more effectively by tracking demand and stock levels.

Considerations
Communication: It's important to communicate with your customers about back orders, informing them of the expected delivery date.
Inventory Planning: Use back order data to improve your inventory planning and forecasting.
Prioritization: Prioritize back orders based on customer importance or order date.
