Oriente Portugal – Quiet Walks (180)

At the beginning of our Portuguese tour we stayed at the Tivoli Hotel - Oriente a suburb of Lisbon, located along the river Tagus.
This area originally was an industrial waste land and regenerated in 1998 for the
Expo 98 Worlds Fair.
Now a thriving commercial area complete with the award winning high speed commuter train station with a Lisbon metro link and bus station.
The water front has many attractions inc the Chair lift, Aquarium, ‘Meo Arena’, ‘Vasco da Gama Tower’, numerous restaurants, cafes and a large shopping mall ‘Centro Vasco da Gama’ complete with lower ground access to the train station.
