CRUISE 5 with Deborah Mbale MAI MBAMBANDE

Born in 1999, Deborah Mbale is a young lady on a mission. Founder and Executive Director of Mai Mbambande Foundation, Deborah set out to inspire girls and women to reach for greater heights. Deborah is currently taking care of 50 elderly women by providing them with housing, food and clothing. Currently she operates from Dzama Village, in TA Chitukula’s area in Lilongwe.

She also runs a program that she broadcasts on featured on the Mai Mbambande Foundation’s Facebook page where she features successful women from around the world. The featured real-life stories are about different women making strides in areas of Media and Broadcasting, the Academia, Civil Service, Commerce, Advocacy, Arts, and Technology.

Mai Mbambande Foundation has also generously developed a girls’ outreach Project targeted at girls and young women. Currently, the foundation has established clubs for young women and girls in remote parts of Dedza, Lilongwe (Central Region), and Mangochi (Eastern region) districts. Club participants convene to watch prerecorded interviews on success stories of fellow women by outdoor cinema. They also engage in open discussions about femininity and various other issues pertinent to their lives as women.
