Just a year ago, a climate assessment report several years in the making was released, warning that the future of Yellowstone was threatened by climate change. The move to a warmer, drier climate would threaten Yellowstone’s wildlife and lead to more extreme weather events, the report said. Then, this June, a “one-in-a-thousand-years” flood shut down the park at the beginning of its peak tourist season. So how is Yellowstone preparing for the future of climate change, as it’s seriously beginning to feel its effects?
