This is a huge topic for me. I came from barbell training where adding weight, any weight, improved your recovery and absolute strength. Then I had to shift my diet and focus more on power-to-weight ratio.

Many athletes feel kinda lost what diet they should follow and what they should eat and I totally get that. It leads them to zigzagging between not eating enough to indulge in food and feel somewhat guilty.
