Baby Born at 37 Weeks

Our daughter Olivia was born at 37 weeks. Our Consultant and the team recommended induction, due to concerns about the baby not gaining weight as expected as well as the problems we've had with past pregnancies. It was in mother and baby's best interests to get baby out at 37 weeks .

We were very anxious about this decision to be induced but in light of other family stresses at the time we at least had a fixed time for things to happen. We were just worried whether it was the right thing to do.

Olivia was quite small at birth but not tiny - certainly smaller than her big brother but wasn't big or strong enough to latch so had to be bottle fed for the first couple of weeks. Once she got bigger and stronger she was able to latch and has been breast-feeding exclusively since then. As a result, she is a healthy looking baby at 3 months!
