Firstly, Welcome to all of my new subscribers!

This session was a spontaneous "I'm Going Fishing" moment.

As I drove over the bridge by the skatepark I could see a huge pebble beach area...The Afon Lwyd was running very low!

I wasn't expecting much this evening in terms of fish numbers but I was happy with the amount of fish in the net.

Lower water levels mean less oxygenated water for the fish to take in. To my surprise some of the pools were still around the 4ft plus mark so I targeted the deeper areas of the river.

I started my fly fishing session from the South Fields to slowly make my way up to the tight bend further upstream towards the Oasis car park.

I saw a few rising fish throughout the evening but the ones I targeted totally refused my choice of fly. I decided to change fly but I still couldn't get any interest. I feel I spent too long trying to catch one on the dry this evening. This took up the best part of an hour of the session leaving me with not much time to run a nymph through some of the other spots further upstream. The nights are beginning to draw in too.

Fishing times were approximately 1900 to 2130.
Weather - Sunny Spells with a few extremely light sprinkles of rain throughout the evening that turned to drizzle around 2100.
Temperature hovering around the 15*C mark.
