Razor joins the Cybathlon - a global championship of people with differing abilities who compete in performing everyday tasks with the help of advanced assistive technology.

51 teams from 20 countries are taking part in the competition with the help of state-of-the-art technology. Due to COVID-19, the teams are competing remotely from their home bases, rather than travelling to Zurich where the event is usually held. Each team consists of researchers from universities and private companies as well as a pilot who is in charge of performing the tasks.

Shini Somara talks to the Zurich-based ‘Neurolegs’ team and their pilot Stefan Poth, who lost his leg in a motorcycle accident 7 years ago. He and team leader, Giacomo Valle, discuss the psychological and technological challenges involved in the competition, which encompasses several categories including a powered prosthetic leg race, powered exoskeleton race, functional electrical stimulation bike race and brain computer interface race.
