The first digit indicates type of bearing, second digit indicates the width or height series (dimensions B, T or H). The third digit identifies the diameter series (dimension D). The last two digits of the basic designation identify the size code of the bearing bore. The size code multiplied by 5 gives the bore diameter (d) in mm.

Bearing internal clearance is defined as the total distance either inner or outer ring can be moved when the other ring is fixed. If movement is in the radial direction, it is called radial internal clearance; if in the axial direction, axial internal clearance.

These are the 5 most common C codes for internal bearing play: C1, C2, C3, C4 and C5. If a bearing has a C code, it offers extra internal clearance. C1 offers the least extra clearance, C5 offers the most extra clearance. The extra margin C3 offer is considered 'normal'.

Internal clearance being C3 means that the bearing has room for expansion if needed between the races of the bearing, whilst holding the outer ring and moving the inner ring in a radial movement you will detect a little amount of play between the two rings.

C2 is less than normal so the bearing is tighter (designed for slower-moving more precise applications that require little or no play in the bearings where the temperature remains fairly constant. C3 is designed for hot running environments; engines etc.

The 2Z suffix indicates that the bearing has a steel seal on both sides. The bearings are filled with a high-quality grease and are lubricated for life. Internal play. The C3 in the product name means that this bearing has a higher (internal) clearance than normal.

Bearings are "parts that assist objects' rotation". They support the shaft that rotates inside the machinery. Machines that use bearings include automobiles, airplanes, electric generators and so on.

Rolling element bearings can be subdivided into two major types: ball bearings and roller bearings.

Bearings typically consist of the following components: Two rings, inner and outer, with raceways. Rolling elements - rollers or balls. A cage which keeps the rolling elements separated and helps guide motion.
