There are a few methods you can use to measure a baby's body temperature. Here are some common techniques:
Rectal Temperature: This method is considered the most accurate for infants under three months old. Use a digital rectal thermometer specifically designed for rectal use. Apply a small amount of petroleum jelly or a water-based lubricant to the tip of the thermometer, gently insert it into the baby's rectum about half an inch, and hold it in place until it beeps or indicates the temperature has been measured. Remember to clean the thermometer before and after use.
