Following the 2021 flood and debris flow disaster and evacuations on the Berg Lake Trail at Mount Robson, BC Parks embarked on a three-year rebuild of the damaged and lost sections of the trail and related infrastructure, as well as significant upgrades such as the new parking lot at the trailhead. Last year saw the trail re-opened to the upgraded Kinney Lake campsite, and this summer (2024) the new trail on the east rather than the west side of the Robson River was opened to the Whitehorn campsite. Next year, the final section will be reopened to Berg Lake.
