In Europe, MEPs are pushing for stronger protections under the Digital Services Act, including:

•⁠ ⁠A minimum age of 13 for general social media access

•⁠ ⁠Bans on addictive features, manipulative algorithms, loot boxes, and “kidfluencing” monetisation

•⁠ ⁠Measures to ensure AI-powered apps and chatbots don’t exploit or manipulate minors

•⁠ ⁠Address the Big Tech's alarming lack of responsibly

Countries like Australia and Denmark have already started implementing similar protections, and others are actively considering it.
