The Admissions Process at the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy

Описание к видео The Admissions Process at the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy

The entire admissions process at the CAO is about helping applicants determine if the program is right for them, while ALSO determining whether applicants are right for OUR program.

The CAO does not look at GPA or prior education as a marker for success in the program. Those components are only relevant in terms of prerequisites, AND if you don't have the adequate prerequisites .. . . we have Inductions to get you where you need to be, to begin year 1.

So what does the CAO look for in a prospective student? It’s all about character and work ethic. First and Foremost, the CAO is looking for students who want to help people! We also want students who are willing to work hard throughout the program.

The CAO wants students who are natural-born problem solvers AND who are constantly curious about the body. We want applicants who are excited about osteopathy and who want to learn it from a principles-based approach.

If you attend a visit day, and like what you see, the next step is to schedule an admissions interview. The CAO interviews every new applicant personally to determine if they are a right fit for the CAO program and community.

The CAO HANDPICKS its classes because the CAO experience is an integral part of the education, and every person we bring into the program should be a positive contribution to the community and their class.

The school has a “nobody left behind” policy. Our classes work as a unit, supporting one another, sharing notes, and practicing together, to complete the hurdles of the program. Every class becomes a family!

This admissions process ensures that the CAO’s drop-out rate remains low, and most everyone that starts the program, finishes with success!!
