Launch control tutorial for the Audi S3

1. Ensure the car is in "dynamic" drive mode - launching won't work otherwise.

2. Ensure it's on "sport" setting - check the dash and make sure you see the "S" before the gear indicator (i.e., what's usually "D1" should be "S1"). If not, bump the gear lever down to toggle between "drive" and "Sport".

3. Press and hold the traction control button until "ESC OFF" is displayed on the dash. This enables the car to transfer uninterrupted torque to wheels regardless of whether some of them spin.

4. Use the throttle to control how much boost you give the launch (tuned cars only). I.e., in this video, the road was wet, so less throttle (boost) was built up to avoid tyre spin.

5. Press and hold the brake pedal with one foot, and with the other press the accelerator down to the floor. Once full boost is built up (watch the boost gauge), you can let off the throttle to reduce this if needed - i.e., if the road surface is wet or your tyres aren't the best.

6. When ready to launch, release the brake, and once the car is actually in motion (after a split second), press the accelerator back to the floor (if you were launching without full boost).

You can do this in Manual or Auto transmission mode. I've had more success in Auto mode.
